Around the boardsports

Spacejunk received in June 2010 a group of kids from Bidart, a town in the Basque Country, who wished to see more closely the world of boardsports.
After exploring a workshop for making handmade skateboards and visiting the editorial offices of a surfing magazine, the group came to Spacejunk to explore the artists’ creativity who are linked to imaging of boardsports.
They visited the collective show “Stencil Only” and learned how the stencil technique works. After they asked lots of questions!

Venus auction

The VENUS exhibition tour has been presented in the four Spacejunk Art Centers in France.
In Lyon, the exhibition has been displayed during “Octobre Rose” (month dedicated to fight breath cancer) in 6 places, including four hospitals.
Following the exhibition cycle, a charitable auction sell of the exhibition artworks and other numerous works offered by generous artists took place on October 18th, 2010, in the Hotel de Ville of the City of Lyon. Supported gracefully by Maitre Martinon, auctioneer of the SCP, Jean-Claude ANAF, it is with the support of the City of Lyon, of the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council and the National Agency for the Social Cohesion and the Equality of opportunity (ACSE) that this project was able to be succeeded in this beautiful way. The artworks sell permitted to give over seven thousand euros to two association dedicated to fight breath cancer.

POST-MODERNE auction in Lyon

In partnership with the study Aguttes, this sale of contemporary art aims to fit into the landscape of Lyon as a special appointment of the new art scene.

Directed by Xavier Leblanc and with the assistance of Philippe Jayet and Julien Brunot, a team of experts gathered artworks from the board culture, street art, illustration and comics. This auction also allows the mixing of Japanese, urban and fantasy influences. A new generation of artists propels itself through the landscape of contemporary art.

This auction will include artworks from Reg Mombassa, Nicolas Thomas, Odö, Vinz, Carole Bielicki, Nikodem, Andy Howell, Dashenka Prochazka, Dave Bowers, Nick Morris, Mizzo, Beekei, Steph Cop, Ahero, Navette, Caia Koopman among others…

Spacejunk took part of the 4th Biennial Réseau Entreprendre, a huge meeting for businessmen. The first party was held in arenas of bayonne where was presented an amazing equestrian show… What’s the link with Spacejunk? The organizers wanted something special to stimulate the creativity of the business owners, so the art center invited them to join in the big live painting with the artists!
